Fashion Make-up

One project Sari and I did together was some of her more fashion makeup that gets a little funky-crazy-awesome. You can get any kind of look when you combine makeup and photography, just depends on what your personal style is.

So when you’re brainstorming your shoot – don’t limit yourself. Get inspiration anywhere and bring it – we’ll make this session anything you want.

Make-Up for Sessions

Posted in Uncategorized on September 29, 2009 by bigsara7272

When you are thinking about doing a boudoir session, you want to look your best. For some girls that means they want their make-up professionally done. You can go with a polished natural look that  makes your eyes pop (neutral colors and some lash extensions) or full-on crazy cool makeup.

Sari Motley is a super fun and laid back make-up artist who I’ve worked with on a couple of projects and I love her style and attitude about it all. I’ll be posting about one we recently did soon… and our upcoming events as well.

Check out her blog on professional makeup for photography here.

Ashley…exposed!

When I brought up the idea of playing around with some adventure boudoir type pics with Ashley, I had no idea she’d been taking S-factor classes for a year. Talk about a great pair up.

Ashley wanted to start on the train tracks, then go inside for some pole shots. Of course, I was excited about it all. After bailing off the track a couple of times as trains came by, we decided to jump back up there for a few as it was barreling by – Ashley was fearless, I love those shots. Then we headed to her place to capture her amazing skills. I was truly impressed.  No way could I even attempt what she did without cracking my skull open. And definitely no way could I look as awesome as she does, looking hot during an intense workout isn’t easy!

Christi…exposed!

So I’m posting my inaugural attempt first. Christi is a gorgeous girl and SO much fun. For her shoot, we really didn’t have a plan but we decided to head down to Galveston and look for some funky cool spots along the way. And wow, did we ever find some. We just pulled onto the shoulder, flipped on the hazard lights and ran off for some fun.

Christi’s big hope was that we would find a tractor somewhere – and what do you know, as we were pulling away from our last spot on our way home – we found one! So, we just had to play some more.

I love so many from this session, but of course, can only post a few.

Exposed by Sara Catherine Photography

So I decided to start a subset of Sara Catherine Photography called Exposed, which will focus primarily on Boudoir type sessions – some with the little twist. The sessions I’ve done so far have been what I call Adventure sessions… because we did them outside! It’s totally fun and both the girls and myself had a blast. I really think this is a cool way to do these types of shoots. And what can I say, both girls were up for train tracks -  don’t know what it is but I totally have a thing for train tracks!

I’ll post some pics from each girl’s session and a few other blogs that relate to these types of shoots. If you are thinking about doing a session like this, give me a call or shoot me an email and we can discuss options – it is so fun to think about different things to do that fit your personality! Indoors is still completely an option, basically anything you want is an option.

Hope you enjoy the blog…
